I am probably somewhere on the spectrum myself, and I think the term "neurotypical" versus autistic might be more descriptive? I much prefer actually making the effort to teach our kids morals rather than just having them blindly obey through fear ;)Opinionatedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09813723534576555434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7477053899127840506.post-50377595853663558142013-09-27T15:34:34.626-05:002013-09-27T15:34:34.626-05:00I was so angry about this, I felt I had to. Since I have been questioning if I am autistic myself, it makes me so angry to see that some people view autistics like this, as though they are disposable, and not as deserving of the same rights and respect as everyone else.Sheldonhttp://ramblingsofsheldon.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7477053899127840506.post-18054150190305436142013-09-27T15:30:11.163-05:002013-09-27T15:30:11.163-05:00Thank you, Sheldon, for posting this!

I know some places in Europe it isn't (France and Germany come to mind).

It really shows you what people think of autistics. I don't know if this behavior is due to good old fashioned bigotry and hatred against the mentally ill, or if people have this twisted perception that autism is so horrible that they are being released from their suffering when they die.Sheldonhttp://ramblingsofsheldon.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7477053899127840506.post-37135202943113316552013-09-27T12:55:15.964-05:002013-09-27T12:55:15.964-05:00My son has autism. That's what really makes me angry about this, people trying to condone this kind of violence because of who the victim is, it's saying, whether they realize it or not, that the value of an autistic person's life is not equal to that of a neurotypical.

I can understand how the stress could wear her down, but murder is still not acceptable. I can even understand, after years pile up, having suicidal thoughts and stuff. But at that point get some help.
