A Judge in Arizona critizes a woman who filed charges against a police officer who put his hand up her dress and fondled her gentials in a bar. The judge told her : ""If you wouldn't have been there that night, none of this would have happened to you,", and "When you blame others, you give up your power to change".
Excuse me, but I think this man was to blame to this case, just saying!
Also that same night, he tried to get into the bar for free by intimidating staff with his police badge, pinched another woman, and threatened to arrest the bar bouncers when they threw him out. The woman who filed the charges said that she has faced a lot of hostility from Flagstaff area residents who felt like she wrongly ruined the police officer's life by having him prosecuted.
Worst of all, besdies the 4 days he spent in a county jail before his trial, he was not forced to serve any jail time, or register as a sex offender, despite the fact that the charge he was convicted of was a felony. The judge thinks that he didn't deserve that level of punishment, noting that he lost his job as a police officer, and wil lnot be able to legally hunt anymore, which was a passion of his. I'm still not feeling sorry for this guy, and I wonder if he has done far worse to other women, but was never reported for it.
Is this really how far we have come in American society? If so, it's highly disappointing....
