(Update). It Looks Like Actor Angus T. Jones Is Regretting His Earlier Comments...

Angus T. Jones in character as Jake
Well, it looks like Two and a Half Men actor Angus T. Jones is back pedaling on his video rants about the show that I talked about yesterday on the blog. According to CNN, he is apologizing for some of the comments he made about the show in light of his conversion to the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. Apparently he will keep on being a fundamentalist, but, he seems to be regret how harsh his comments were about the show, including calling the show "filth", and telling people to stop watching the show.

Quotes from the article:

""I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed," Jones said in a statement released by his publicist. "I never intended that."

""Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family."

Hmm.... I wonder if maybe his 8 million dollar a year salary and a shocked response from the producers have something to do with this?

Actor Converts to Fundamentalism, Speaks Out Against TV Show That Made Him Famous

Angus T. Jones, Seventh Day Adventist
Actor Angus T. Jones has lately come out with some video rants against Two and A Half Men, the sitcom which he has been a star in since he was a child. He is 19 years old now, and has become a Christian fundamentalist in the Seventh Day Adventist denomination.

Lately, he came out with videos condemning the show he is a part of, telling people not to watch it, and that he is uncomfortable with the sitcom's story lines and suggestive humor, and says that as a "godly man", that he doesn't want to star in the show.

Perhaps growing up on the set of the show, where he probably spent more time with hard partying actor Charlie Sheen than his own family drove him to the opposite extreme. Remember the cocaine fueled video rants that got Charlie Sheen fired from the show last year?

In these videos, Angus T. Jones (which I have always wondered if he was named after Angus Young of AC/DC or after the breed of cattle), calls the show "filth". I've included one of the videos in this blog post:

Hopefully he doesn't become a Creationist apologist like Kirk Cameron, the 80's teen actor who now with his friend, Ray Comfort, pushes the ridiculous "banana argument", which is supposed to be, according to them, the atheist's worst nightmare.

Oh well, only time will tell.
